Tony Blair has met his Japanese counterpart in Number 10 for talks.
The PM welcomed Shinzo Abe to Downing Street, saying that the relationship between the two countries was a strong one, based on "shared values and international interests".
It was the first time the two men had met since Prime Minister Abe took over in September of last year.
Their discussions covered areas such as Iraq and Afghanistan and the environment.
Following a press conference, the two leaders issued a joint communiqué which says they will work towards achieving a set of objectives in areas such as international security, climate change, science, technology and innovation
